Individual Membership

People First has many individual members all of whom have a learning disablility. Come and join us!

As a People First member, you will be able to:

  • Vote at our Triennial General Meetings - (this means meetings once every three years) and be able to put yourself forward to be a member of the Management Committee. Voting at our Triennial General Meeting means that you can vote for who should be on the Management Committee. It also means that you can vote on resolutions, these are ideas about the work and future plans for People First.
  • Receive important information - through the website, e-newsletters, social media, meetings and events. You can find out what people are doing around the country, hear about important policy updates and consultations, and find out the views and experiences of other members. 
  • Connect with others – through one-to-one peer and self-advocacy support, peer support and self-advocacy groups, meetings and events.
  • Campaign – through sharing your experiences and ideas to feed in to a collective voice and a force for change.
